Sue Klahne is a South Florida based ocean inspired artist, working primarily in acrylic and resin. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts with a major in Graphic Design. Sue previously worked as an Art Director for a local advertising agency and feels her design background has strongly influenced her painting style.

Sue is drawn to bold use of color and strong composition. Much of her inspiration comes from traveling, whether to the Blue Ridge Mountains, cruising the blue waters of the Caribbean, or to the turquoise icebergs of Alaska. Sue is blessed to live miles away from the ocean where she finds inspiration for painting the flora and fauna associated with coastal Florida. The many different shades of blue found in the sea can be seen throughout her body of work. She is most well known for her aerial view paintings of the ocean which rival that of Mother Nature.

Klahne is an award-winning artist, working out of her home studio in Palm City, Florida. She has exhibited locally in art festivals, businesses, galleries, museums and as a regular participant in the annual Martin County Open Studio Tour. Sue is an active member of several local art associations and served as a board member for the Martin Artisans Guild and curator for the Palm Room Artisans Boutique for several years.

Klahne is an advocate for Mental Health and Addiction awareness and aims to educate and break the stigma associated with both.

Sue’s art is an integral part of her own personal wellness and it is her desire that the viewer of her work feel the same sense of serenity that the creative process affords her. Klahne often donates her time, art, as well as a portion of her proceeds to non-profits affiliated with mental health. Sue believes God has blessed her with a talent and a desire to give back and bless others.
